Linda Carter Hall, 83, of Lugoff, SC, went to her heavenly home on April 16, 2024. She was a woman of unwavering faith, a dedicated educator, and a loving mother.
She was born in Camden, SC on December 5, 1940. She was the youngest of eleven children born to Rev. Virgil Carter and Josephine Chestnut Carter.
Linda graduated from South Carolina State College in 1962, receiving her undergraduate degree in Mathematics. She went on to earn a Master's in Education in School Counseling from South Carolina State College.
Linda's passion for education led her to a career in the Kershaw County school district that spanned over 30 years. She began her career as a middle school math teacher and eventually transitioned to the role of a school counselor. She started her teaching career in Richland County in 1962. Linda then returned to Kershaw County School District, serving many schools throughout her career, including North Central High School and Camden High School. Linda was also one of the founding members of the Iota Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority in Camden.
From an early age, Linda's faith in Christ was a guiding light in her life, and she was an active member of her home church, Good Hope Wesley Chapel UMC. Her service to the church was diverse, ranging from being a Lay Leader and Chairperson of the Staff Pastor Parrish Relations Committee (SPPRC) to teaching Sunday school and serving on the Finance Committee. Her active involvement in the church community was a testament to her deep-rooted faith and commitment to her spiritual journey.
Linda leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in her beloved children, Rodney Wellington Hall and Aisha Wilson Middleton (Jeffery), a special son and daughter (Derrick and Jewell Stanley), grandson Colin Middleton, granddaughter Elizabeth Middleton, and a large extended family of nieces and nephews. Her family, who held her in the highest regard, will forever cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms in her heavenly home
